PiolhosThose annoying little creatures that appear on the heads of young children, bothering and sometimes embarrassing them.

Today we're going to talk about how to fight lice naturally and also how to prevent them.

As soon as the first child in the class shows up with lice, we all go on alert. In these cases, it's better to prevent those who haven't yet caught them and treat those who have had the misfortune of getting them.

Head lice infest the hair and scalp. Infestation is transmitted through personal contact and possibly through shared combs, brushes, hats, and other personal items. Lice are not associated with poor hygiene; quite the opposite, they even prefer a clean scalp. Lice are parasites that feed on our blood.

Emotionally, sometimes children feel embarrassed because there's still a myth associating lice with poor hygiene, and it's important for parents to explain that it's not related. Let's blame "bad luck" and don't lose your confidence and self-assurance. You are all beautiful.

PREVENTION
Prevention of Lice with Tea Tree Essential Oil

Parents can apply a drop to their index fingers and apply it to the nape of the child's neck before they go to school. When washing their hair, they can add two drops of tea tree oil to the amount of shampoo used for each wash. This application can be done from 30 months onwards; children under 30 months should use only one drop in the shampoo.

Prevention of lice with Lavender Latifolia Essential Oil

ELIMINATION

Eliminating Lice

1. Choose a vegetable oil: castor, coconut, or argan oil and place it in a 25ml bottle.

2. Add 20 drops of lavender angustifolia.

3. Add 20 drops of tea tree oil.

4. Shake very well so that both ingredients are evenly mixed.

5. Apply to the scalp, leave on for 1 hour, and then use a lice comb or a comb with closely spaced teeth.

6. Finally, wash the hair with a mild shampoo.

NOTE: During these applications, care must be taken to avoid getting drops in the eyes.

When dealing with children, it is important to check for skin allergies to either of these two essential oils applied directly to the skin. Although they are one of the few that can be applied to the skin, someone may still have a reaction. If this happens, it is important to use a vegetable oil with the essential oil.

The choice of essential oils should be made carefully and their use moderately. Essential oil is 60 times stronger than the plant due to its concentration. The amount to be used should be between 1 and 2 drops, depending on age.

PRECAUTIONS

Essential oils do not dissolve in water and are dermo caustic.
If a drop of an essential oil that does not belong to the group of those tolerable on the skin falls on the skin, immediately apply a vegetable oil to the affected area to reduce the reaction. Using water is not recommended.
Essential oils should not be ingested with water, but rather with olive oil, coconut oil, or other edible oil, honey or in capsules with oil. They should always be very well mixed, and ingestion should only be advised by a certified technician, doctor, naturopath, Chinese medicine practitioner, or aromatherapist.
Each essential oil has its contraindications, and each person should be aware of this information regarding what they are going to buy.
Both tea tree essential oil and lavender latifolia (spica) should not be used in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
